Poland's presidential election was held on 18 May 2025. There were 13 candidates vying for the highest office in the country, including two female candidates. Polls before the election indicated that none of the candidates would receive more than half of the votes, so a second round would be necessary, and so it was. Its outcome will determine the future of Poland's current democratic and pro-European course, or a turn to the populist right.
On Friday, May 9th, the celebrations of Europe Day took place at our university. The event began with a performance by the SGH Choir, which sang the "Ode to Joy." Next, students from the SGH High School participated in a quiz about the European Union, testing their knowledge of the history and functioning of the community.
On May 7, 2025, Model European Union Warsaw 2025 will take place at SGH Warsaw School of Economics – a unique educational event during which participants will step into the roles of EU member state ministers and engage in a simulation of the legislative process in the Council of the European Union. The initiative is designed for high school and university students interested in European politics.
