On 26 March 2025, SGH authorities and students met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the former prime minister of the Netherlands from 2010 to 2024. “This is not the time to go it alone. Not for Europe or North America” – Mark Rutte said during his lecture. “When it comes to keeping Europe and North America safe, there is no alternative to NATO. (...) And nothing can replace America’s nuclear umbrella, the ultimate guarantor of our security. A strong transatlantic Alliance remains the bedrock of our defence,” NATO’s head assured.
The first edition of the “GoWeast!” program took place between February 26 and March 5, 2025. This program is a joint initiative of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). Its primary goal is to merge small groups of Polish and German students, mix them, divide them into even smaller research teams, and guide them through the process of delivering a scholarly presentation and article on topics of mutual interest.
On March 4, Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification, Valdis Dombrovskis, hosted a youth policy dialogue in Brussels, engaging directly with young leaders on key economic issues. The discussion centered on the EU’s economic priorities, the role of young people in decision-making, and challenges related to competitiveness, digital transformation, and regulatory streamlining.
