On 12 June, SGH Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, dr hab. Jacek Prokop, prof. SGH, received in Lyon, during the annual EFMD Global conference, the BSIS label awarded to SGH last July. The certificate was presented to the representative of our university by EFMD Global CEO, Eric Cornuel. The ceremony was also attended by the new BSIS Director, François Bonvalet.

On 14 July 2022, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics was granted the Business School Impact System (BSIS IMPACT) label, confirming its impact on the social and economic environment and role in building its social responsibility.

BSIS IMPACT is a label issued by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a global non-profit organisation dedicated to management development, founded in 1972. EFMD is recognised globally as an accreditation body for business schools and business school programmes.

EFMD uses BSIS IMPACT to assess an institution’s impact on its environment, defined as financial impact, educational impact, business development impact, intellectual impact, impact within the ecosystem, societal impact, and image impact.

“Only a very small group of over 60 leading business schools in the world can currently boast a BSIS label. SGH is a pioneer in social engagement, which is becoming increasingly important in the activities of universities around the world,” said Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Jacek Prokop.

What should be considered one of the most important achievements of SGH in the academic year coming to a close is the attainment of EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation, which is a prestigious and comprehensive institutional accreditation system for business and management schools. EQUIS provides a measure of quality in ten areas of the university’s operations: management, programmes, students, faculty, research, internationalisation, ethics, social responsibility and sustainability, as well as connection with practice.

At the end of September 2021, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics obtained the prestigious EQUIS accreditation, also awarded by EFMD. The official EQUIS accreditation ceremony was held on 9 June 2022 in Prague. Our university is now actively participating in the accreditation procedure of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an association of economics and business schools. Together with the AMBA certificate, which SGH had already obtained, EQUIS and AACSB make up the so-called triple crown accreditation. Only a small group of business universities can boast it.
