PRZEDMOWA

Raport SGH i Forum Ekonomicznego 2026 to już dziewiąta edycja tej cyklicznej publikacji, którą z dumą od niemal dekady oddajemy w Państwa ręce. Tegoroczny Raport ma szczególny charakter, ponieważ Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie obchodzi swoje 120-lecie. Jubileusz ten upływa pod hasłem „120 lat SGH. Tradycja, która tworzy jutro”. Sformułowanie to nie jest przypadkowe – oddaje bowiem sposób myślenia o kształceniu kolejnych pokoleń studentów, którzy od 120 lat zasilają kadry administracji publicznej, najważniejszych instytucji w państwie, spółek, wielkiego biznesu, a także małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw oraz organizacji pozarządowych. To dzięki nim i ich mentorom – wykładowcom SGH – Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie, będąca najstarszą uczelnią ekonomiczną i biznesową w Polsce, kształtuje życie gospodarcze, społeczne i polityczne naszego kraju.
Raport jest efektem wytężonej pracy kilkudziesięciu naukowców SGH i następstwem wieloletniej współpracy merytorycznej Szkoły Głównej Handlowej w Warszawie z Fundacją Instytut Studiów Wschodnich. Jako przedstawiciele tych ważnych dla sfery publicznej instytucji stoimy na stanowisku, że wiedza ekspercka rozpoczyna i podsumowuje przebieg każdej debaty. Współpraca SGH i Fundacji ISW pokazuje, jak istotne jest łączenie wiedzy akademickiej i badań naukowych z praktyką gospodarczą.

W tym roku Raport SGH i Forum Ekonomicznego obejmuje dziesięć eksperckich opracowań przygotowanych w ramach programu grantowego Rektora SGH. Ich problematyka dotyczy kluczowych wyzwań dla Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, w tym Polski ‒ od inwestycji, energetyki i rynku pracy po innowacje, zdrowie i bezpieczeństwo żywnościowe.

Zgodnie z przyjętą tradycją 8 września 2026 r. grupa ekspertów SGH zaprezentuje w Karpaczu Raport, inaugurując tym samym tegoroczną edycję Forum Ekonomicznego. Zapraszamy serdecznie do udziału w Forum, w tym do Strefy SGH, gdzie motywem przewodnim naszych aktywności będzie 120-lecie uczelni. Doskonałym dopełnieniem tych wydarzeń będzie lektura prezentowanej monografii naukowej, do której gorąco zachęcamy.

PREFACE

The Report of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Economic Forum 2026 is already the ninth edition of this recurring publication, which we have been proud to present to you for nearly a decade. This year’s Report is particularly significant, as the SGH Warsaw School of Economics celebrates its 120th anniversary. The jubilee is held under the motto “120 years of SGH. Tradition that shapes Tomorrow”. This phrase is no accident: it reflects our understanding of educating successive generations of students who, for 120 years, have gone on to serve in public administration, the country’s most important institutions, companies, big business, small and medium-sized enterprises, and non-governmental organisations. It is thanks to them, and to their mentors – the academic staff of SGH – that the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the oldest university of economics and business in Poland, shapes the economic, social, and political life of our country.

Behind the Report lies the intensive work of several dozen SGH researchers and many years of substantive cooperation between the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies. As representatives of these two institutions that play a significant role in public life, we hold that expert knowledge both opens and closes every debate. The cooperation between SGH and the Foundation demonstrates the importance of combining academic knowledge and scholarly research with business practice.

This year, the Report of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Economic Forum comprises ten expert studies prepared under the SGH Rector’s grant programme. They address the key challenges facing Central and Eastern Europe, Poland included – from investment, energy, and the labour market to innovation, health, and food security.

In keeping with tradition, on 8 September 2026 a team of SGH experts will present the Report in Karpacz, thereby inaugurating this year’s Economic Forum. We warmly invite you to participate in the Forum, and especially in the SGH Zone, where our activities will centre on the University’s 120th anniversary. Reading the academic monograph presented here will be an excellent complement to those events, and we strongly encourage you to do so.
