International Education Within Reach – Inspiring Lectures within SGH CIVCIA High School Activities
As part of the CIVCIA High School Activities, a unique event dedicated to high school students took place on 23rd of April, 2024, aimed at inspiring them to pursue higher education and showcasing the opportunities provided by international education.
During the lecture, participants had the chance to hear inspiring stories and experiences from students who studied abroad or participated in international exchange programs. Maciej Kubica from the Student Research Group of Finance and Macroeconomics shared his experience with the participants.
The event featured presentations on the opportunities for studying at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. Ms. Sylwia Remiszewska, the Head of Admissions Office, introduced the students to various educational paths available at SGH, emphasizing how the university prepares students for the global job market. Following this, Ms. Małgorzata Chromy, the Director of International Centre, discussed the principles of the CIVICA program, a pan-European educational initiative that opens doors for students to studies and international cooperation. Additionally, Ms. Joanna Kaszewska, Director of the Centre for Open Education, guided the students around the SGH campus, showing them modern educational facilities and spaces that foster development and intercultural exchange.
A special highlight of the program was a debate led by Anna Masłoń-Oracz, PhD (Coordinator of CIVICA WP7) on what it means to be a responsible leader. This discussion helped students understand the key aspects of responsible leadership and how these skills can be developed in the context of international education.
This event was not only a chance to gain valuable information but also an opportunity for students to ask questions and receive direct advice from those who have already had international experiences.
