On April 22, 2025, SGH Warsaw School of Economics received AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation – one of the most renowned distinctions awarded to business schools worldwide. SGH has thus joined the elite group of universities with the triple crown of accreditation, including AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

This distinction is held by only about 1 percent of business schools globally, that poses each of the following three, internationally recognized accreditations: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

“I am truly delighted with the accreditation AACSB we have received - this is a tremendous honour for our university. With this achievement, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics joins the ranks of the world’s leading business schools. It serves as both recognition of our efforts and a strong motivation for continued growth and improvement. This is a joyful and significant moment for the entire SGH community. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to this accomplishment,” said SGH Rector Piotr Wachowiak.

“This achievement might  be considered as one of the most significant in the nearly 120-year history of our Alma Mater. It is a shared success of our entire academic community: students, doctoral students, graduates, faculty and administrative staff and SGH business and  social partners,” he emphasized.

“The participation in accreditation processes allows us to present on the international forum the scope and quality of activities undertaken by our university staff, building at the same time the awareness of how important the accreditation is among the SGH community.

Internationally accredited schools (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) are pioneers in teaching, research and social impact. Thanks to obtaining AACSB, we have won the so-called third accreditation crown and thus confirmed our strong position of a business schools leader,” said Vice Rector for International Relations.

He added that accreditation processes give us “a unique opportunity to more deeply reflect on our Alma Mater”. “The preparation of documents and accreditation visits make us stronger, but also make us aware that there are some areas for improvement.”

For over a century, AACSB has recognized higher education institutions that meet the highest standards in teaching quality, research excellence, international engagement, and collaboration with the socio-economic environment.

For our university, obtaining the triple crown was one of the key strategic goals, which we have been consistently pursuing for several years. We obtained the AMBA accreditation in 2016, then the EQUIS accreditation in 2021, and the AACSB accreditation in 2025. We are very happy with the success achieved in this field. Key international accreditations confirm the high status of SGH on the map of global business schools.

We achieved all this together, thanks to the involvement of many groups of stakeholders: academic teachers, administration, students and doctoral students, business representatives, alumni, members of the University Council and members of the International Advisory Board (IAB). This success would not have been possible without the support of the rector and chancellor authorities and thanks to the coordinating role of the accreditation team. We can all be extremely proud of this achievement.
