SGH Leads CIVICA Research Hub TRANSCONNECT on European Multilevel Migration and Integration Governance
As a result of the first call for CIVICA Research Hubs, announced in 2025, four winning consortia were selected to implement their activities in 2026–2027. One of them is the CIVICA Research Hub TRANSCONNECT – “Researching Integration Pathways, Transconnectivity and Policy Innovation in Multilevel Migration Governance”, led by SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
The TRANSCONNECT Hub is coordinated at SGH by Dr Marta Pachocka (Department of Political Studies, Institute of International Studies, Collegium of Socio-Economics), and the Hub team brings together researchers from various SGH units.
The project establishes a long-term research hub on European multilevel migration and integration governance, centred on the concept of transconnectivity and using post-2022 Ukrainian forced migration as its initial focus. It lays the groundwork for major Horizon Europe proposals through coordinated research, workshops, seminars, stakeholder engagement, policy innovation, and communication activities running from January 2026 to June 2027.
Partner universities include: SGH Warsaw School of Economics, European University Institute in Florence (EUI), Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), Central European University (CEU), IE University, Hertie School, as well as three Ukrainian CIVICA partners: National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv National Economic University, and Kyiv School of Economics.
In 2026, SGH’s activities within the Hub will be carried out under the RID Lead grant, financed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education as part of the “Regional Initiative of Excellence” Programme.
